Day Three: Sweater Weather

I am not sure how the weather was where you were at on October 23, 2019, but here in Chadrock (I mean Chadron, for those non-locals) it was, as Winnie the Pooh says, ” . . . a very blustery day, Piglet.”

Not just windy, but that COLD wind you are never quite ready for, no matter how late in the fall it comes. Just a reminder that like it or not, winter is on its way.

However, this was the PERFECT occasion to bust out my new favorite sweater for Day Three of the Black Blazer Challenge. The sweater was a birthday gift from my mom and it will, FOR SURE, become a staple this season.

I love a good sweater, but this one is nice because it looks “chunkier” than it actually is–so it is a good layering sweater, especially under THE black blazer.

I should be calling this the birthday gift post because the riding boots were also a gift from my husband this year.

He is so thoughtful about my gifts. He really knows me so well. He pays close attention to my taste and spends hours looking for the perfect gift he knows I will love . . . .

Or, I found some boots I loved, pinned them on my “Gift Ideas” board on Pinterest and then told my mom, to tell my husband.

You decide.

So, this is one workaround to my $20 “thing”. If there is something I really love but it’s over my limit, I ask for it as a gift. My husband appreciates the directive and I appreciate getting what I want. Everyone is happy.

I found these boots on a Zulily sale. They were a hell of a deal for real leather, so I immediately pinned them and texted my mom so she could help my husband order them before the sale was over.

Sadly, they are sold out on Zulily now. And, I cannot find them anywhere else online for that price.

Insert wailing, sobbing and painful moaning.

I posted two options below, the exact boots in Cognac from Amazon (which are pricier) and the other option in Caramel, currently on sale at a different 6pm.com.

However, the sweater and the pants are only $19.99 each at H&M, so maybe that leaves you a little room to splurge on the boots. At least that’s how I would justify it to myself.

Before you go . . .

As I was pulling links for this look, I came across some new black skinnies I may have to try out at H&M. They are more expensive ($49.99) but have shaping powers.

Ain’t no mom this side of the Mississippi (or hell the other side either) that couldn’t use a little “shaping”. It’s just good for your soul . . . and your ass.

Check them out by clicking on the photo below.
