It’s not a mini, it’s not a maxi . . . it’s somewhere in-between . . . it’s a midi! Now, most you are probably familiar with the midi. But, as I scroll through Instagram it is hard to miss what a “must-have” trend this skirt is. And to be specific, I am loving the pleated midi skirt and think this is the skirt you NEED in 2020.

If you follow me, you know I have a $20 problem, but I felt that it was important to show you pleated midis at a variety of price points to give you options and demonstrate just how great this style can be. That being said, the skirts shown are all under $60 and most are around $30 or less.
Here is why you NEED a pleated midi skirt in 2020:
It is universally flattering
Fit and length are key. Not all midis are created equal. If you are shorter in stature, you want a midi that hits just below the knee–you still want to see a little leg to give a lengthening effect. Also, look for a good fit and quality waistband that sits at your natural waist. This will highlight your figure and give you a variety of styling options with the top (tucked-in, un-tucked, tied, etc.)

It can be worn year-round.
Change up the top and the shoes and you have an outfit for every season. Try with a tee for spring, a tank and strappy sandals for summer, a cool jacket for fall and a pair of tall boots for winter.

I practice what I preach
These aren’t the best photos, but it’s hard to take fashionable pics while sporting a medical boot thanks to my broken foot. However, I purchased my pleated skirt a few years ago from H&M and I am so happy it has become an “it” trend. I look forward to rocking these and many other looks with this skirt in the New Year.
Cheers to 2020. Wishing you a Happy New Year and many fashionable moments in your new skirt!
