Friday Firsts: Graphic Tee Styling Sesh

You guys. This DRESS. It was a dream, really. So beautifully detailed and 100% worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY (and the headache I had after dancing and drinking the night away in it. SUPER limited in sizes right now (I wore it in size 2) but you can always check back for a restock.
I LOVE this tie and pocket square set–the colors are beautiful and it feels super expensive . . . but it is only $10.99. Lots of color options available but this is the one my hubby rocked.

I am sharing this again because dupes to this shirt jacket have been showing up at my favorite stores. My jacket is a vintage/consignment find but these are super similar. It’s a great fall to winter transition piece because the oversized fit allows for layering over chunky sweaters without the weight of a heavy coat.

The Best Boots
Seriously love these boots. Like, I have worn them almost every day for the last week. So many styling options–like the ones shown below. I don’t know if anything has ever summed my life up more than this sweatshirt from Pink Lily. The only thing missing is wine, but I am still in love with it. I paired it with my favorite faux leather leggings and my new boots from Walmart (more on my love for them in another post, because they are amazing and only $20).

It’s Hot . . . In October
I’ve gushed about this dress a million times, so here is a million and one. It was perfect for today’s 90 degree temps on Oct. 8. But, don’t worry–when the temps drop, you can easily layer this piece with a long cardigan or denim jacket, pair with leggings and booties or top with a chunky sweater and knee boots too.
I am also LOVING my new loafers from H&M. Another great fall staple and alternative to wearing sandals (and cooler than boots!).

This is the perfect look for any casual weekend outing. For me, it was flea market shopping and mimosas. Not a bad way to start off the weekend.
The Ultimate Tank
I have talked about these tanks on my Insta stories before. I LOVE them. The key to keeping them looking new is to wash in cold and hang dry. The best part, they come in a pack of 3 for only $11.50.
Casual Pants (that are not leggings!)
I am obsessed with a paper-bag pant. I am obsessed with cargo-styling. I am obsessed with a crop pant. So, obviously I am obsessed with these.
The pockets are perfect for my mom-life, the styling keeps them cool and “now” and the fit is comfy (but not “lounge-y”).

Here is the dress I recently wore to my brother’s wedding. It is STUNNING in person, but not super practical if you need to lift your arms a lot. However, I highly recommend for as a wedding guest dress–just count the YMCA out.

This tank is one of my absolute favorite things. I actually bought it when I was prego with my first–it was great for the bump, perfect for concealing the post-baby belly and it is now a staple in my mom-wardrobe.
I’ve worn it with leggings, jeans, joggers and shorts. Dressed it up with a blazer or cool jacket or dressed it down with a cardigan or sweatshirt. Great for layering and the fabric is long-wearing (I’ve owned mine for 4.5 years and has not pilled–looks brand new).
Curtains
These are the curtains I purchased to update my master bedroom recently. I chose the 95 inch length in Natural Linen so I could hang the rods closer to the ceiling–giving the room a taller and more open feel.

April Showers | Floral Dress
I recently did a styling session on my Insta Stories where I took one dress and changed out the jacket, shoes and accessories to create five different looks appropriate for any spring/summer soiree.
While I did not find exact “dupes” to the dress I wore, I did find a few fun dress options for you to check out below.
Here are some of the key points I mentioned in the story:
- Print & color matters. If you are looking for something to take you from day to night or through a few seasons, lean toward a larger print (small prints can feel very “day”) and consider a color scheme that includes a strong neutral. For example, if you choose a more “pastel” dress (like mine in the light blue) go with a larger, sparse print in neutrals–rather than a smaller, all-over print.
- Ditch the belt. Don’t wear the dress with the belt it came with–especially if it is a fabric tie that matches the fabric of the dress. Instead, pair it with an actual belt to instantly make your outfit look more expensive and give you more structure at the waist.
- Think before you buy. Ask yourself about all the possible ways/places you could wear the dress, think about what you already own that you could pair with it and consider if the silhouette/print/color is trendy or classic. If it is pricey, but you can wear it many different ways, fits well in your closet (and on you), AND it is a classic piece, it might be worth the extra $$$.

If you watched my Insta story on this look, I mentioned the importance of good shapers under these pants. TIP: when tucking a top into high-waisted, fitted pants, you can tuck the top into the shapers to help smooth wrinkles and keep the top from bunching up.

Tied Gray Sweater & Leggings
I had a few people ask about this outfit, so therefore it requires a post! This is actually more about the styling of the top, rather than the top itself. The top I have on is an old H&M clearance find–tunic with long side slits. I tied it up on one side to create a more interesting, asymmetrical look.

Casual Day Off | 2.26.2020
Today was a big day because I was finally able to wiggle (more like shove) my healing foot into my favorite riding boots. I received them as a birthday gift in September and then broke my foot on November 2. Needless to say, I have not gotten to enjoy wearing them NEARLY enough.
I paired them with my FAVE sweatshirt/sweater from Target and my fantastic Walmart clearance jeans ($2 freaking dollars in-store last week!) The skinny fit and high-waist with button-fly detail are a nice balance the more boxy-fit sweater. Perfect for a solo-mission grocery shopping trip in the cold.

The pant comes in many different patterns. They are UBER soft and comfy. Even if you just wear them around the house, they are a great buy for the comfort-level. But don’t do that. Buy them, wear them, rock them and be the coolest chic in the bar, office or playground.

If you watch my Insta Stories, you know that the top I was wearing today cannot be found online . . . I messaged H&M but have not heard back. Anyway, I think it’s a must-have because you can totally wear it year-round. It is lightweight but looks cozy and the perfect fit. Check out an H&M store near you to find yours–I hope!
However, while the waistband on these joggers is weird (see my Insta Story Highlights–Outfits) I still LOVE these and will wear them at least once a week. So comfy and the cargo pockets are a must for this mama.
